Spring Branch Presbyterian Church collecting underwear, socks

The Spring Branch Presbyterian Church will collect new underwear and white socks in August for its clothing drive, organized by Memorial Assistance Ministries.

Items collected will be donated to Spring Branch Independent School District children in low-income areas. School nurses and CIS workers will distribute the donated clothing. Monetary donations will also be accepted as part of the back to school program. The money will go to help students purchase new school uniforms.

White socks were selected as a donation suggestion due to the number of schools that have uniform codes with white socks as part of the required dress.

A donation box will be located outside the church office at Spring Branch Presbyterian Church, located at 1215 Campbell Road.

Memorial Assistance Ministries in a non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to families and individuals in temporary financial crisis. Last years drive assisted 4,500 students, and the goal is 5,000 this year.
