Greybeard adult roller hockey league to begin in August

An inline hockey league for adults age 38 and older will begin Wednesday nights in August at Houston Indoor Sports.

The Greybeard League is a co-ed league for beginner and intermediate players that offers a 10-game regular season followed by playoffs. League participants must have the following equipment to be eligible to play: a helmet, a hockey stick, gloves, elbow pads and knee and shin pads.

The cost to play in the league is $125 for goalies and $175 for skaters. Players must purchase and show proof that they carry AAU Hockey Inline insurance. To buy the AAU insurance, visit aauhockey.org.

The following players were members of The Knuckleheads, the Greybeard division championship team for the spring season: Randi Diskey, Kirk Diskey, Don Edwards, Greg Falzone, Rob Scherer, Steve Stalc, Scott Tartaglia, Dante Vecchione and goalie Tom Pfaff.

Houston Indoor Sports is located at 221 Barren Springs Drive, Houston.
