Northwest 45 Little League hosts tourney

Northwest 45 Little League will host the Back 2 Skool Slam Tournament from Friday, Aug. 24 to Sunday, Aug. 26.

There will be a closed cases tournament for players in the under-7 to under-12 age groups and a machine pitch for players in the under-7 and under-8 age groups.

The event will be held at the little league's facilities at 24811 W. Hardy Road, in Spring.

The tournament will be played according to little league rules and with the 2013 little league age chart.

Three games are guaranteed with a pool game and single-game elimination format. There also will be paid umpires.

The cost is $400 per team. An early bird discount is available. Each team also must provide insurance.

Trophies and T-shirts will be given the top two teams in all age groups.
