Spring woman sues daughter in connection with alleged fraud

A Spring woman is suing over claims her daughter defrauded her out of $30,000 and then committed her to a hospital over false claims of dementia.    Mary Nelson Parker, of Spring, filed a lawsuit on Aug. 8 in Harris County District Court against Yolanda Weigand, citing fraud, false imprisonment and slander.    The suit alleges that in March, Weigand tricked Parker, her mother, into appointing her as a signatory on Parker's bank account in order to withdraw more than $30,000.   Weigand also allegedly stole $75,000 worth of her mother's jewelry and then committed her mother to a hospital, falsely claiming she suffered from dementia, in an attempt to cover up her actions, according to the brief.    Parker is seeking attorney's fees, court costs and damages.
