Milstead Automotive to sponsor Oct. 6 Walk Like MADD event

Milstead Automotive has joined Mothers Against Drunk Driving as the presenting sponsor for the upcoming Walk Like MADD event to be held Saturday, Oct. 6 at Northshore Park in The Woodlands.

Walk Like MADD is a 5K noncompetitive walk for employees of corporations and local businesses to raise money from family members, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Funds will support the MADD mission of eliminating drunk driving, supporting victims and preventing underage drinking.

"We are very committed to getting the word out about anti-distracted and anti-impaired driving," said Amy Milstead, president of Milstead Automotive, in a press release. "When MADD approached us to be the presenting sponsor we knew this was the right event for us and the best possible affiliation."

Walkers can start their own teams, join an existing team or walk on their own. Virtual walkers can sign up online to donate.

Registration for the Oct. 6 walk is at 8 a.m. The opening ceremony is at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
