Spring nurse accuses employer of negligence
A nurse from Spring is suing over claims her employer let her go after she was injured on the job. Spring resident Christy Wernick filed a lawsuit on Aug. 20 in Harris County District Court against Heart to Heart Hospice of Houston, citing negligence. Wernick says on Oct. 29, 2011, she sustained injuries while working as a nurse for Heart to Heart Hospice. The suit alleges that during treatment for these injuries, Heart to Heart demoted her and disqualified her benefits. According to the brief, the defendant then terminated her employment on March 2. Wernick is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Woodlands attorney Patrick Primavera. Harris County District Court Case No. 2012-47538. This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed at the Harris County Courthouse. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt, and it only represents one side of the story.
