22 Spring runners complete Galveston Sand Crab 5K
Twenty-two runners from Spring completed the Galveston Sand Crab 5K on Aug. 11 in Galveston. The successful Spring runners were: Luis Quiroz, (25:22); Juan R. Sanchez, (27:14); Justin Olejnik, (28:31); Blake Strommer, (28:56); Melissa Hilyer, (29:39); Dylan Strommer, (30:48); Nikki Pratt, (31:12); Patti Souza, (31:24); James Stewart, (32:30); Rebecca McPhail, (34:29); Leslie Uzcategui, (35:22); Michael OHare, (35:46); Scott Satterfield, (36:07); Lynn Stewart, (36:11); Lisa Strange, (40:19); Kristin Batchelor, (41:53); Sharon Hamelin, (46:51); Stephanie Hall, (50:07); Sunshine Grissom, (50:07); Celeste Johnson, (55:42); and Belinda Lopez, (55:47). A total of 660 runners finished the 5K run, which started and ended at Porretto Beach. The night race began at 8:30 p.m., and was run entirely on sand. Justin Donovan of Nederland was the men's overall winner with a time of 21:27. Kate Taylor of Houston won the women's division in 19:57.
