Harris County Sheriff's Office investigates fatal shooting in Sablechase
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating the early morning shooting death of a man on Aug. 23 in the Sablechase subdivision. According to a news release issued by the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting around 2 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 3700 block of Varla Lane. The 19-year-old male victim, who had been shot in the stomach, was found on the sidewalk still alive, but later pronounced dead at Hermann Hospital, the release said. Neighbors told deputies they had heard two gunshots before discovering the victim. Witnesses also reported seeing a dark-colored sedan speeding from the scene after the shooting, the release said. No other details were available.
