LSC-Tomball to host free small business seminars

A series of free business success seminars will be offered this September and October at LSC-Tomball.   "Driving Revenue with LinkedIn" kicks off the series on Thursday, Sept. 27. Participants will learn how to set up and use a LinkedIn profile to generate revenue.    Outback Western Wear owner Chris M. O'Rourke, winner of the 2011 Line Star College Small Business of the Year award, will present "Selling on eBay" on Thursday, Oct. 4. O'Rourke will share ideas on how small businesses can make large profits using eBay.   The next seminar in the series, "Broken Windows Marketing," is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11. Nicole Finkbeiner, executive director of College Relations at LSC-Tomball will describe how business owners can use a common law enforcement tactic to attract and keep customers.    Small business owners can learn how to "Avoid that Computer Disaster and Sleep Soundly" on Thursday, Oct. 18. Madelyn Feinberg from Avatar Computer Solutions will provide attendees with preset technology practices used to avoid a small business computer fiasco.    The last of the series, "Quickbooks: What You Need to Know," will take place on Thursday, Oct. 25. Instructor Deborah Hroch and Associates, certified by QuickBooks Pro and UH SBDC, will show how businesses can use Quickbooks to streamline accounting practices.   The workshops will be held from 8-9 a.m. in room E-163 on the Tomball campus, located at 30555 Tomball Parkway.
