Sideline Spirit offers cheer classes in October
The Sideline Spirit Cheer Company is offering a variety of cheer classes beginning in October. The Mommy and Sprout program is for parents with children ages 18 months to 2 years old. The students will learn the beginning motor skills necessary to move on to higher programs. The Spirit! Sprout program will also cover these beginning motor skills, including tumbling. It is for ages 3-4. The Cheer Technique program will teach the essential cheer motions and sideline chants that are used in many cheer routines. The Jump Technique program will enhance students' strength, flexibility and power while providing technical instruction for jumpers. Spirit! Dance is for students learning beginning choreography. The Tumbling program is for students of all skill levels, assisting in the development of running and standing tumbling skills. The Game Day program is for current school cheerleaders looking to hone their performance skills. The program will develop skills for the upcoming cheer seasons and sharpen individual skills. Spirit! Bootcamp will meet twice a week for an hour and a half to work on skill-set training. The program is designed to help students perform better at school cheerleading tryouts, focusing on better motion technique, cheers and sidelines, jumps, tumbling, dance, stunts and safety. The goal is to help all students make their school cheerleading squads. The Spirit! Team is also open for students looking to improve their teamwork, leadership and service skills. The group practices once a week for an hour and a half and performs at games and events throughout the cheer season. The class season begins on Monday, Oct. 1, and the grand opening celebration will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6. The Spirit! Night event will take place from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, with music, pizza, games, movies and cheerleading. Sideline Spirit Cheer Company classes will be held at the Legends Sports Complex, located at 602 Pruitt Road in Spring. For more information and program registration, visit www.gosidelinespirit.com.
