Klein High and Klein Forest receive national recognition from Future Farmers of America
Klein High and Klein Forest have received national recognition from the National Future Farmers of America.
Klein High received a three-star distinction while Klein Forest received two stars from the FFA Chapter Awards program. A total for 660 candidates across the country were in the pool for awards. The school chapters will be formally recognized at the 2012 National FFA Convention and Expo from Wednesday to Saturday, Oct. 24 to Oct. 27, in Indianapolis.
The Klein High chapter also earned a Gold Emblem rating from the 84th annual Texas FFA Convention held in July. The top 10 percent of chapters in the state received the rating. The schools that received the emblem have been active in implementing the mission and strategies of the FFA.
The National FFA provides members with the chance to increase their leadership skills and receive agricultural training. More than 540,000 students in grades seven to 12 belong to local chapters in the U.S.
