Cypress Creek Cultural District to honor Jackie Burke
The Cypress Creek Cultural District will hold a community tribute event for golfer Jackie Burke on Friday, Nov. 19.
The event will include a golf clinic taught by golf professionals Steve Elkington, Charlie Epps, Billy Harmon, Jim McLean and Hal Sutton; a dinner; and a presentation on Burke's life and career.
Burke's contribution to promoting amateur golf, his teaching philosophy, his creation of a championship golf course and his support of charities, including the Lone Star College System, youth golf associations and the Cypress Creek Cultural Arts organizations, will be honored, according to a press release.
The event takes place at Champions Golf Club, 6823 Cypresswood Drive, Spring.
