Spring ISD receives 'superior' rating for financial accountability
Spring Independent School District was recently given a Superior Achievement rating for the 2010-11 fiscal year by the Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas.
The rating system is designed to assess the quality of financial management in Texas public schools by analyzing trends in financial management efficiencies. According to Ann Westbrooks, the executive director for finance, the district received a perfect score.
As part of the process, Spring ISD was required to disclose a copy of the superintendent's current employment contract, a list of compensation and fees received by the superintendent for consulting or personal services, a list of reimbursable expenses, a list of gifts more than $250 received from outside vendors by the board, superintendent or immediate family members, and a list of business transactions between the board members and the district.
A copy of the report can be found at springisd.org.
