Klein ISD Education Foundation expands Tribute Garden
Klein ISD administrators, KEF directors and community members attended the phase two, section one Tribute Garden ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Klein Independent School District Education Foundation held a ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 24 to dedicate 80 engraved pavers and a commemorative medallion at the Klein ISD Tribute Garden.
The garden was designed by PBK Architects and and installed by Carnahan's Landscaping on the site of the original high school in Klein. It opened in 2010 with 208 pavers and 20 benches and, according to a press release, has been growing since.
It includes an oak tree as its centerpiece, and an entrance fashioned with brick columns that came from the chimneys of the original school.
In addition to the new pavers, PBK Architects designed a granite medallion of the original Klein High School building that was given to the district by Klein Funeral Home.
The dedication ceremony was attended by many groups, including members of the KHS 1953 football team, community members, the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce and Klein ISD administrators.
The Klein Education Foundation is currently accepting reservations for personalized pavers and benches for the next phase of garden improvements, to be made in 2013.
Klein ISD is located at 7200 Spring Cypress Road, Klein.
