Cypress Creek Foundation Presents Three December Concerts
This December, Cypress Creek FACE, or Foundation for the Arts & Community Enrichment, will bring three top concerts onstage. Featuring the talents of The Baylor Brass, WindSync and the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the performing arts center will share the spirit of the holidays through music.
"Cypress Creek FACE is a nonprofit performing arts foundation whose mission is to provide top-quality concerts and fine arts educational opportunities for the members of our community," Cypress Creek's Nanci Decker said.
The first top-quality concert in December is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. The members of The Brass Band, all Baylor University brass faculty members, will come together for a performance of brass music. The concert features professor of trumpet and chair-brass area Wiff Rudd, adjunct trumpet/brass Mark Schubert, associate professor of horn Jeffrey Powers, associate professor of trombone Brent Phillips, and assistant professor of tuba/euphonium Dr. Kent Eshelman.
"Hear the brilliance of Bach, gorgeous Gershwin, glistening Holiday favorites and more," Decker said.
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, WindSync in Wonderland will let audience members participate in plenty of group sing-alongs to demonstrate their knowledge of American holiday music.
"Complete with music and choreography from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, introductions and demonstrations of the instruments, and sing-along holiday favorites, WindSync's seasonal holiday program gives audiences an interactive look into a variety of holiday traditions inspired by storytelling, music and ballet," Decker said.
And finally, at 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, the Houston Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating its 11th New Year's Eve at the Centrum with another outstanding performance of choice music.
"Celebrating the new year has become a tradition at The Centrum," Decker said. "Brett Mitchell will lead his sixth consecutive New Year's Eve gala concert with the Houston Symphony, held on Dec. 31 at 8 p.m."
All three performances will be held at Cypress Creek FACE's The Centrum, located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. For tickets or inquiries, please call 281-440-4850 or go to www.cypresscreekface.org.
