Former Klein Forest Elementary teacher publishes iBook
Former Klein Forest Elementary teacher Lynne Dozier has published "The Writer's Voice, an iBook based on her teaching methods.
Lynne Dozier, a former Klein Forest Elementary teacher, has written and published an iBook based on her teaching manual.
The manual was created from handouts Dozier used in her classes. The first edition was completed in 2003, with continued revisions until Dozier retired in 2011. After retiring, students encouraged her to turn the book into something that could be made available on the iPad.
Dozier worked with Chris Miller, a former student, to make the manual digital. The iBook, "The Writer's Voice," includes lessons, examples of compositions and writing assignments, all of which were created and refined by Dozier during her time as a teacher. Additionally, the digital format allowed for the addition of interactive features such as quizzes, video and links to useful websites.
The iBook was released in the Apple Bookstore Thursday, Sept. 27 and is available at itunes.apple.com/us/book/the-writers-voice/id562783885?mt=13&uo=4. A portion of all sales will benefit Klein Forest writing scholarships and the Klein Education Foundation.
