Applause Theatre to continue in 2013, seeks pledges
The Applause Theatre will continue to exist in 2013 but is still trying to reach its financial goals.
The theater reached an agreement with its landlords that will allow it to stay open despite not reaching its financial goals.
The theater's financial troubles are due in part to fewer and fewer opportunities for grants being available, according to a theater press release. To make up for the loss, it is seeking support from the community. Memberships, which help support the theater, are available for as little as $10.
The theater is holding the following upcoming events:
Auditions for "Charlie Brown" will be Saturday, Dec. 1. Auditions for "Urinetown" will be Saturday, Dec. 15.
The theater's annual Applause For Christmas will be Sunday, Dec. 16.
The theater will premier "She's Beyond Good and Evil" on Thursday, Jan. 3, Friday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5, 2013.
The Applause Theatre is at 6608 W. FM 1960, Suite E, Houston.
