Spring Westfield grad Carter leads Central Florida to victory
Spring Westfield High School graduate Gevenia Carter scored 17 points to lead Central Florida to a 64-56 victory over Mississippi State Thursday, Nov. 22, the Central Florida website reported.
Carter also recorded four rebounds, three assists and five steals for the Knights, who improved to 2-5 on the season.
Central Florida's next game is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28 at home against Charlotte.
Carter, a 5-foot-8 senior guard for the University of Central Florida, is a 2009 graduate of Westfield High School. She was the 12th ranked shooting guard prospect in the country out of high school, according to ESPN.com. The Houston native is the daughter of Telekia Foots and Charles Carter and is majoring in hospitality management.
