Klein ISD nationally recognized for commitment to digital learning
The Klein Independent School District has been nationally recognized for its commitment to digital learning by Knovation's 2011-12 Digital Learning Awards Program.
According to a district release, the district ranked 14th out of the top-100 overall school districts that have proven to effectively use Knovation's netTrekker, an educational search engine.
Knovation's program annually recognizes school districts that use digital solutions to "transform teaching and learning environments," the release stated.
Klein ISD's netTrekker integration and use of technology is the result of the district's Technology Baseline Standard Initiative, established to "assure all students have access to technology, and to equip teachers to effectively utilize technology to produce rigorous and engaging lessons," the release said.
