Upcoming events scheduled at Lone Star College Tomball Community Library
Lone Star College-Tomball Community Library will hold various events for children and adults during December.
According to a library release, events include a puppet workshop, an art history lesson and a variety of book clubs.
The library's Afternoon Book Club will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4 to discuss "The Art of Fielding" by Chad Harbach. Copies of books are currently available for checkout at the library.
The Puppet Workshop will be held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. Children will learn about shadow puppetry and will have the opportunity to create their own shadow puppet to take home.
The Choo Choo Club, a free early literacy program for children ages 3 to 6, will be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Registration is required, as space is limited to 20 children. Registration begins one week prior to the event.
Preschool Story Time, for children ages 3 to 5, will be held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 6-20. The event will feature stories, songs, finger plays and a craft.
Children in second to sixth grade will learn about Russian artists and art forms and have the opportunity to create a Fabergé Egg during the Art Explorers Around the World event to be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 and 4:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11. Registration is required, as space is limited to 20 children per session. Registration begins Monday, Dec. 3.
The library's Inspirational Book Club will meet from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 to discuss "Holiday Illusion" by Lynette Eason. Attendees will meet in the Friends of Library Room on the first floor. Light refreshments will also be served during the event.
A Reading Education Assistance Dogs event will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18. Attendees will be able to share a book with a furry friend.
The library's Mystery Book Club will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 to discuss "A Cold Day in Paradise" by Steve Hamilton. Attendees will meet in the Friends of Library Room. Copies of books are currently available for checkout at the library.
