Upcoming events at Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts will host the following events in December:

Happy Holidays Family Days will run from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. The museum will celebrate the season with traditions from Mexico with guests making luminaria and ornaments using aluminum sheets and permanent markers. A free children's concert will be given by Cypress Creek FACE at 10 a.m. in the Centrum. This event is free and open to the public.

A book discussion and tour will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Pen & Paintbrush Book Club in partnership with the Barbara Bush Library will host the discussion on "Women Hollering Creek and Other Stories" by Sandra Cisneros. The collection contains stories from both sides of the Mexican border. After the discussion, Education Director Rosemary Hickman will give a tour of the museum making connections with the book. This event is free and open to the public.

Painting with Coffee is an adult painting workshop that works with coffee as the medium of expression. Participants can use a subject of their choosing. Each session is limited to 16 students. Three sessions will be offered from 9 a.m.-noon and 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, and 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. Cost is $25 for non-members, $20 for members and $15 for teachers.
