Gas prices in and around Spring and Klein were lower than the averages for Houston and the country as a whole, according to data from the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.

Visitors to the gasbuddy.com website reported rates for 92 gas stations in and around Spring and Klein.

As of Saturday, Dec. 8, the average price of regular unleaded gas in Spring and Klein was $3.07 per gallon. Gasbuddy.com listed the Houston average at $3.09, the state average at $3.09 and the nationwide average at $3.36.

The least expensive gas in Spring and Klein was reported to be $2.97 for a gallon of regular unleaded, which gasbuddy.com contributors logged at Murphy USA, 21170 Kuykendahl Road, near FM 2920, and McFood Store, 9440 Louetta Road.

A gasbuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas in the area to be $3.49 at CITGO, 3843 FM-2920.

Other local stations included in the survey were Texaco, 3211 Cypresswood Drive; Exxon, 710 Sawdust Road; Chevron, 1990 FM-2920; Shell, 21502 Aldine Westfield Road; Valero, 322 Rayford Road; Shell, 25103 I-45; and Shell, 25029 I-45.

The prices, based on the cost of regular unleaded gas, are submitted by the site's contributors.
