Houston's Cypress Creek FACE Sponsors Legacy Concert and Puppet Show in January

Cypress Creek FACE will host a Legacy Concert featuring Will Riley and Heather Rogers Riley at 3 p.m. on Jan. 8 and host Julian Franklin's Magic and Puppet Show at 10 a.m. on Jan 19. The two events are fun for the whole family and a perfect way to spend the days winding down from holiday gatherings.

The Legacy Concert with Rogers Riley and Riley is a Spanish-themed program, titled Postcards from Spain, tracing the interconnectedness of the guitar and piano through music by greats such as Debussy, De Falla, and Granados.

Riley maintains an active schedule as a guitarist and educator. Currently a lecturer and the director of classical guitar studies at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, he is also on the music faculty at New England Conservatory Preparatory School and teaches a large studio of young guitarists as director of the Childbloom Guitar Program of Boston. Rogers Riley is a devoted piano instructor, performance coach, adjudicator and performer. She maintains a full teaching studio at Indian Hill Music School in Littleton, Mass., where she is chair of the piano department. Additionally, Rogers Riley runs her own private piano studio in Jamaica Plain, Mass. In 2011, Rogers Riley became the Massachusetts state representative for The Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program, and she also serves on the board of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association.

Tickets for the Legacy Concert are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children and students. Tickets can be obtained by calling 281-440-4850, visiting www.cypresscreekface.org or heading out to The Centrum at 6823 Cypresswood Drive in Spring, where the concert will take place.

Julian Franklin's Magic & Puppet Show is fun, engaging and magical. It will delight not only kids but also the kid inside every adult.

"Julian Franklin began performing magic shows and puppet shows at a very early age," Cypress Creek FACE's Nanci Decker said. "In 2001, he decided to combine his love of performing with his passion for education and thus Julian Franklin Productions was born. Your family will have the time of their lives."

Franklin's show is part of Cypress Creek FACE's Free Children's Series, which is always free, with no reservations necessary.

All performances will be held at Cypress Creek FACE's The Centrum, located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. For tickets or inquiries, please call 281-440-4850 or go to www.cypresscreekface.org.
