Athletes in action: Women's basketball
The following athletes with local high school ties are scheduled to compete this week in the following events:
Veja Hamilton, Texas Christian University
Position: Forward and guard
High school: Klein Collins High School
This week: Saturday, Dec. 22, versus Texas-Pan American
About Hamilton: Hamilton is a freshman forward and guard for Texas Christian University. She is a 2012 graduate of Klein Collins High School, where she was a McDonald's All-American nominee. Hamilton was ranked No. 18 overall wing in the country, according to ESPN, HoopGurlz. A four-star rated combo guard, she was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches all-state list in March, scoring 2,228 points. Hamilton is from Spring.
Nadine Ndip, Vanderbilt University
Position: Guard
High school: Klein High School
This week: Saturday, Dec. 22, versus College of Charleston
About Ndip: Ndip is a sophomore guard for Vanderbilt University. She is a 2010 graduate of Klein High School, where she was a two-year captain and starter and three-year letter winner. As a senior, she received first team all-district and academic all-district honors, was voted team most valuable player and selected to the Spring Branch All-Tournament Team. A member of the National Honor Society, she graduated cum laude. The Spring native is the daughter of Amuel and Geraldine Ndip.
