Dekaney grad Shepherd plays in Louisiana loss
Dekaney High School graduate Kasey Shepherd scored eight points, but his University of Louisiana lost 87-70 to conference rival Arkansas State Thursday, Dec. 27, at Convocation Center in Jonesboro, Ark., the team's website reported.
Louisiana's next game is 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at home against UALR.
Shepherd is a freshman guard for University of Louisiana. He is a 2012 graduate of Dekaney High School in Houston. As a senior, he was the district defensive player of the year, helping the team to a 27-12 record. Shepherd is a three-time academic all-district honoree. The biology major from Houston is the son of Jeffrey and Paula Shepherd.
