Dekaney grad Shepherd helps in Louisiana win
Spring Dekaney High School graduate Kasey Shepherd contributed two points as University of Louisiana won 79-70 at home over conference rival Arkansas-Little Rock Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Cajundome in Lafayette, the Louisiana website reported.
The freshman guard helped the Ragin Cajuns improve to 6-9 on the season and 2-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Louisiana's next game is 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 at Florida Atlantic University.
Shepherd is a 2012 graduate of Dekaney High School in Houston. As a senior, he was the district defensive player of the year, helping the team to a 27-12 record. Shepherd is a three-time academic all-district honoree. The biology major from Houston is the son of Jeffrey and Paula Shepherd.
