Dekaney grad Nevitt plays in Texas Tech loss

Spring Dekaney High School graduate Shunta Nevitt played for Texas Tech in a 58-54 loss to Iowa State Saturday, Jan. 5, at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, the Texas Tech website reported.

Nevitt and the Lady Raiders now are 11-3 on the season. Texas Tech's next game is at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at home against Kansas State.

Nevitt is a freshman forward for Texas Tech University. She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Dekaney High School in Houston, where she made the academic all-district team. The Houston native, a human sciences major, is the daughter of Octavius Nevitt and Mozell Frazier-Nevitt.
