Westfield grad Hopes contributes to Tennessee State victory
Houston native Simone Hopes contributed two points in Tennessee State University's 88-68 win over conference rival Jacksonville State University on Saturday, Jan. 5, according to the school's website.
The senior forward also recorded six rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block for the Tigers, who improved to 5-8 on the season and 1-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Tennessee State's next game is at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7 on the road against Tennessee Tech.
Hopes is a 2009 graduate of Westfield High School in Houston, where she was selected to the All-District 13-5A first team. As a senior, she also was named to the Greater Houston Area All-Star team.
She is the daughter of Ron and Sandra Hopes.
