Dekaney grad Nevitt helps in Texas Tech victory

Spring Dekaney High School graduate Shunta Nevitt played for Texas Tech in a 59-50 win at home over conference rival Kansas State Wednesday, Jan. 9, at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, the Texas Tech website reported.

Nevitt helped the Lady Raiders improve to 12-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference. Texas Tech's next game is at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Oklahoma.

Nevitt is a freshman forward for Texas Tech University. She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Dekaney High School in Houston, where she made the academic all-district team. The Houston native, a human sciences major, is the daughter of Octavius Nevitt and Mozell Frazier-Nevitt.
