Spring Dekaney grad Nevitt contributes to Texas Tech victory

Spring Dekaney High School graduate Shunta Nevitt played for Texas Tech in a 66-59 win over conference rival Texas Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Erwin Center in Austin, the Texas Tech website reported.

Nevitt helped the Lady Raiders improve to 13-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference.

Texas Tech's next game is 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at home against Kansas.

Nevitt is a freshman forward for Texas Tech University. She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Dekaney High School in Houston, where she made the academic all-district team. The Houston native, a human sciences major, is the daughter of Octavius Nevitt and Mozell Frazier-Nevitt.
