Klein Collins grad Perez plays in McMurry loss

Klein Collins High School graduate Alfred Perez scored 14 points, but McMurry University lost 78-70 to conference rival Texas A&M International on Thursday, Jan. 17, at TAMIU KCB in Laredo, the McMurry website reported.

The McMurry University sophomore center also recorded eight rebounds, one assist and a block for the War Hawks, who are 10-3 on the season and 3-3 in the Heartland Conference.

McMurry's next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Saint Mary's University.

Perez played at Klein Collins for head coach Scott Harma in 2008-2010. He was named Second-Team All-District as a senior in the 2009-2010 season while also being named a Greater Houston Coaches Pick by the TABC.
