Spring Dekaney grad Nevitt contributes to Texas Tech victory
Spring Dekaney High School graduate Shunta Nevitt played for Texas Tech in its 70-63 win at home over conference rival Kansas Saturday, Jan. 19, at United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, the Texas Tech website reported.
The freshman forward helped the Red Raiders improve to 14-4 on the season and 4-2 in conference play.
Texas Tech's next game is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 on the road against West Virginia.
Nevitt is a freshman forward for Texas Tech University. She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Dekaney High School in Houston, where she made the academic all-district team. The Houston native, a human sciences major, is the daughter of Octavius Nevitt and Mozell Frazier-Nevitt.
