Dekaney grad Nevitt contributes to Texas Tech victory
Spring Dekaney High School graduate Shunta Nevitt played for Texas Tech University in its 77-73 win over conference rival West Virginia Tuesday, Jan. 22, at WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, W.Va., the Texas Tech website reported.
Nevitt helped the Red Raiders improve to 15-4 on the season and 5-2 in conference.
Texas Tech's next game is noon Sunday, Jan. 27 at home against TCU.
Nevitt is a freshman forward for Texas Tech University. She is a 2012 graduate of Spring Dekaney High School in Houston, where she made the academic all-district team. The Houston native, a human sciences major, is the daughter of Octavius Nevitt and Mozell Frazier-Nevitt.
