Spring Dekaney grad Shepherd scores 16 points in Louisiana Lafayette loss
Spring Dekaney High School graduate Kasey Shepherd scored 16 points in University of Louisiana at Lafayette's 88-64 loss to conference rival University of South Alabama on Feb. 14, according to Louisiana at Lafayette's website.
The freshman guard also recorded three rebounds, one assist and one steal for the Ragin' Cajuns who are 9-17 on the season and 5-10 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Louisiana at Lafayette's next game is 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at home against Florida Atlantic University.
Shepherd is a 2012 graduate of Dekaney High School in Houston. As a senior, he was the district defensive player of the year, helping the team to a 27-12 record. Shepherd is a three-time academic all-district honoree. He is a biology major from Houston.
