Klein Collins grad Perez leads McMurry to victory
Klein Collins High School graduate Alfred Perez led McMurry University with 16 points in the team's 70-49 home victory over conference rival Texas A&M International University on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Kimbrell Arena in Abilene.
McMurry's website reported the sophomore center also recorded three rebounds, two assists and a block for the War Hawks, who improved to 14-7 on the season and 7-6 in the Heartland Conference.
McMurry's next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16 at home against Saint Mary's University.
Perez played at Klein Collins for head coach Scott Harma in 2008-2010. He was named Second-Team All-District as a senior in the 2009-2010 season while also being named a Greater Houston Coaches Pick by the TABC.
