Klein Forest grad Gatson plays in Sam Houston State loss
Klein Forest High School graduate Darius Gatson scored four points for Sam Houston State University in its 50-44 home loss to conference rival Stephen F. Austin State University on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Sam's website reported.
Gatson also recorded two rebounds, six assists, one steal and a block for the Bearkats, who are 14-12 on the season and 7-7 in the Southland Conference.
Sam Houston State's next game is 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Eastern Washington University.
Gatson is a senior guard for Sam Houston State University. The Houston native is a 2009 graduate of Klein Forest High School, where he earned academic all-conference honors.The Houston native is a 2009 graduate of Klein Forest High School, where he earned academic all-conference honors. Before transferring to Sam Houston State University, he spent two years at Trinity Valley Community College, where he earned second team all-conference honors as a sophomore and honorable mention recognition as a freshman.
