Westfield grad Hopes plays in Tennessee State loss
Westfield High School graduate Simone Hopes scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds as Tennessee State University lost 75-69 to conference rival SIU Edwardsville on Monday, Feb. 25 at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Ill., the Tennessee State website reported.
Hopes also recorded one assist for the Tigers, who are 11-14 on the season and 7-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Tennessee State's next game is noon Thursday, Feb. 28 at home against Morehead State.
Hopes is a senior forward for Tennessee State University.She is a 2009 graduate of Westfield High School in Houston, where she was selected to the All-District 13-5A first team, and named to the Greater Houston Area All-Star team as a senior. Hopes is from Houston and is the daughter of Ron and Sandra Hopes.
